Are you interested in pursuing a career in politics and/or policy making? Do you have an ambition to implement your ideals for society? Whether you work in a small company or a big organization like a governmental ministry or the United Nations: policy is made everywhere. From PR to privacy, and from data to diversity, all professional settings demand views, rules and regulations. But how do you make and shape policy? How do you give voice to your ideals to better our society? Here’s where you and your Humanities degree come in! Join this edition of Your Perspective on Monday, December 12, and learn from Humanities alumni about their work in politics and policy making.
Speakers:
- Valérie Mendes de León is a Senior Account Executive at Public Matters and also works as a Communications Manager at the Jonge Klimaatbeweging (Young Climate Movement). She studied Liberal Arts & Sciences with main focus on Conflict Studies and the MA International Politics at Leiden University.
- Arjen Koomen is political analyst at Publieke Zaken. He did a BA History and the MA History of Politics and Society;
- Rob van den Enk, councillor at Student & Starter studied Theatre, Film and Television Studies.
